Roasted Cauliflower Parmesan Pizza

ROASTED CAULIFLOWER PARMESAN PIZZA

Low Carb | Low Sugar | Gluten Free

Who else LOVES pizza, but hates all the carbs that come along with it?! I know I do! Pizza is a super quick, easy and delicious meal that almost everyone enjoys! Today, I am coming at you with a LEANLICOUS CAULIFLOWER PIZZA!

As you can probably already guess, the main ingredient in this pizza is cauliflower. Cauliflower is a great carb replacement! First of all, it is a veggie, so it contains a ton of nutrients and vitamins that the average carb doesn’t have! Secondly, cauliflower only contains 5g of carbs per cup! Where as a typical slice of pizza contains about 25g of carbs per slice! An entire head of cauliflower contains 25g of carbs! So essentially, a typical large head of cauliflower can make approximately 4-5 ‘slices’ of pizza, so 4-5 slices of cauliflower pizza has about the same amount of carbs as 1 slice of regular pizza!

One of my favourite things about this recipe, like a ton of LEANSQUAD recipes, it is super versatile! On my pizza, I used 2 kinds of cheese, marinara sauce, basil, and chili flakes. You can add more types of cheese, proteins, such as chicken, veggies, such as garlic, onions, or peppers, there are so many possibilities! You can even recreate your favourite kind of pizza using the cauliflower base!

One important thing to keep in mind when making this pizza is the marinara sauce. Tons of brands that make marinara sauce add extra unneeded sugars into their sauce. Before choosing your sauce, make sure to check the label for a natural, organic sauce with no added sugar!

Here’s how to make it:

LEAN-GREDIENTS :

  • 1 large head cauliflower

  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

  • 1 ½ cups marinara sauce

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup basil leaves

  • Red chilli flakes
