How to Improve Your Fitness at Home
Happy FRI-LEAN Squadies!! At-home workouts have become increasingly popular due to the pandemic. However, a lot of people aren’t sure where to get started. Today, I will be writing about how you can improve your fitness at home.
Having been stuck inside for most of the past year, it is easy for us to develop bad habits when it comes to our bodies. Keeping our fitness levels up is especially hard because we are in a comfortable environment where we aren’t used to working out.
I am a firm believer that you can workout and improve your fitness from just about anywhere. I also find that working out from home is very convenient because you save a lot of time!
Where do I start?
If you are just a beginner when it comes to fitness, you probably don’t know where to get started.
Getting started on your fitness journey is the single most important thing when it comes to feeling healthier and happier! Whether you do the full workout, half, or even just 5 minutes, showing up and getting started is what is going to lead to change.
I often recommend people start with something that is going to provide accountability, that will give you that little extra push each day to get moving.
My 30 day workout program is the perfect place because you are alongside 100’s of other Squadies each day keeping each other accountable.
If you want to experience what it’s like, try out this beginner’s workout that will improve your fitness and kickstart your journey. Then you can join me and the Squadie community for the 30 Day Lean Challenge on the LEANSQUAD App!

So how do I actually improve?
Once you’ve gotten started and have an accountability marker in place, you improve by following a routine and showing up each day. It really is that simple, it just takes the effort to get going!
Through consistency, you will begin to see yourself getting better at specific exercises and lasting longer during workouts!
When fitness becomes a habit, you can start to introduce progression into your workouts. This means that your workouts become harder, which challenges you more, but leads to improved fitness overall!
What are the benefits of improving my fitness?
First and foremost, improving your fitness will reduce stress and make you feel happier! That sounds pretty good right?
As your fitness levels increase, so does the production of endorphins, which can help with feeling more positive and reducing the perception of pain.
It also doesn’t matter how intense your workout is, our bodies benefit regardless of the intensity. This is why getting started, even if it’s just baby steps, is SO important!
Not only will you feel happier, but you will also change physically by burning fat and building lean muscle. When you challenge your body and improve your fitness, your body will adapt by burning fat stores for energy and building muscle to handle that new stimulus.
I can FEEL that when I am continually showing up each day, I am improving my fitness and feeling better both physically and mentally as a result!
