Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oat Bars!

As many of you know I absolutely LOVE a good on-the-go snack! Especially when it includes some of my favourite ingredients such as peanut butter, chocolate chips and Walden’s maple syrup! These bars are the PERFECT on the go breakfast bar! You got your complex carbs from the rolled oats, your proteins and healthy fats from the almond flour and peanut butter, and last but not least, that touch of sweetness from the maple syrup and chocolate chips! Not only is it the perfect well rounded snack, but it is also super quick and easy to make and store! You can have these bars prepped and cooked in under 30 minutes and can store them for up to 5 days at room temperature!
Almond flour is another one of my favourite carb replacements. You can use it in place of regular flour in a ton of different recipes which not only eliminates some unhealthy processed carbs, but also adds some healthy fats and protein into the dish! Almond flour is made up of one ingredient; ALMONDS! Aside from healthy fats and proteins, almonds also contain a ton of fibre, magnesium and vitamin D! Coconut oil is another great source of healthy fats! Unlike some typical oils such as canola or olive oil, coconut oil contains HEALTHY fats, so you can get much needed creaminess we all know and love the healthy way! Another source of healthy fats and protein is peanut butter. I have been using peanut butter in many of my recipes lately; why? Not only is it tasty, but it’s also super healthy for you! When choosing a peanut butter, in order to get all the great benefits, make sure you are choosing an organic, no added sugar peanut butter. Some basic peanut butter brands tend to add unneeded sugars or processed ingredients, although peanut butter is still tasty and sweet in its natural form! You can also choose to swap peanut butter for any other healthy nut butter, such as almond butter!
For sweetness these bars contain walden’s maple syrup along with dark chocolate chips. I have talked about Walden’s A LOT because it is so LEANMAZING! You can get that much desired sweetness you would get from regular maple syrup, minus all the sugar, or calories of any kind for that matter! Walden’s maple syrup contains 0 calories due to the use of artificial sweeteners! No added sugar dark chocolate chips are another one of my go-to ingredients! Chocolate is naturally, creamy, sweet, rich and of course, leanlicous! Warm one of these bars up to have the perfect, gooey, melted chocolate chips!
Here’s how to make it:
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup almond flour
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
2 tbsp coconut oil
¼ cup Walden’s Maple Syrup
½ tsp vanilla
1 scoop vanilla protein
1 tbsp maca powder
½ cup dark chocolate chips
