Happy Friday, Squadies!
It’s that time of the month again - time to announce our SUMMER SUPER SQUADIE! This month’s super squadie started their Lean Journey at the start of 2020 and hasn't stopped since! This squadie is:

Angie Hung!

Angie first discovered LEANSQUAD through the widely popular Amazing Race Canada tv show winners Steph LeClair and Kristen McKenzie, who posted about a workout program they were doing during the pandemic, in the comfort of their home that only took 30 minutes to complete! With the pandemic, like many of us, it was hard to pivot and find new and exciting ways to work out besides going to the gym. That's why Angie decided to join LEANSQUAD!
After experiencing weight gain in university and receiving unwanted attention due to her size, she knew it was time to change. Through understanding the importance of fitness, exercise, and staying healthy, Angie decided it was time to take action! Starting her journey on July 20th, 2020, Angie signed up for the 7-day free trial and hasn't looked back since!
She made her way through the 6 Week Challenge and continues to push herself with every challenge she completes! Continuing to push herself, Angie decided to complete TWO 30 minute challenges in a day to test her endurance and strength, proving that she's truly leanspiration to us all! Angie is currently completing phases 12 & 13 along with hundreds of other squadies making lean changes in their lives! She continues to be a true inspiration to all Squadie members through her determination and perseverance towards creating a LEAN-TASTIC lifestyle!
We can proudly say that she is truly an embodiment of a LEAN STAR through her hard work and dedication to her health and wellbeing! We are  SO proud of everything she has accomplished thus far.

When you joined the LEANSQUAD:

July 20, 2020, and I have done it ever since. I haven’t stopped.

How many Challenges have you completed thus far?

So many! Daily since July 20, 2020, and did double duty in December 2020 and January 2021 (meaning 2 LEANSQUAD workouts a day). Now in Phase 12 with the weights.

What’s your biggest success as a part of LEANSQUAD?

  •  Still doing this every day since I started on July 20, 2020.
  • Steadily increasing my lean muscle, evidenced by me using heavier weights (without being or looking bulky).
  • Most importantly, HAVING SO MUCH FUN doing this, and being so thankful I’m able to do this physically, mentally, and financially.

Favorite lean meal?

Homemade Tacos! I love that it’s all made with fresh ingredients (your favorite vegetables) and then a lean protein like beans, mushrooms, or chicken. You completely control what’s in it. Just have to chop away! And usually, it looks nice and colorful.

Favorite Whoopsie?

Chinese food, haha! And the occasional alcoholic drink (my favorite is “electric blue popsicle”, look it up).

Number One LEANSQUAD tip to share?

Always press play no matter how you feel. Because even just doing 5 minutes is helpful and motivating, and you usually find the energy to do more.

What would you say to someone who is about to start their Lean journey?

You succeed by just starting and pressing play. Every rep counts. Every movement counts. Every day counts. Doing just 1 set is better than doing none.

Favorite LEAN restaurant to eat out at?

Tamarind Vietnamese Grill & Noodle House in Calgary. It’s got amazing vegetarian & vegan options, and they use freshly made tofu. YES, I love tofu, specifically fresh and plain tofu!

If you have one, please submit a PERSONAL recipe that would be LEANSQUAD approved!!

I am *always* on the go, meaning I don’t have time to do much cooking. So whatever is healthy and quick for me to make, which includes: 1) Plain tofu heated in the microwave, and sprinkled with maggi sauce and hot sauce! I actually love this!  2) Hard boiled eggs: I boil many at a time, then chill them for a quick snack later or to use in a fresh salad. I love eggs, and I love them without having to add oil.
